For more than 25 years, Lauren Rudisill has worked as an artist, designer, and art educator. Born and raised in Morristown, New Jersey, she grew up surrounded by art and began creating at an early age.

Art has always been a family tradition. Her mother, Ruth Wickey, was an accomplished painter for 35 years, and her father, Bill Wickey, was a potter and ceramic sculptor who worked for more than 50 years, until his passing in 2025. From 1970 through 2025, the Wickey family maintained a working art studio in Morristown - a place where art was not simply taught or practiced but was part of everyday life.

Lauren earned her BFA in Interior Design from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, in 1996. She went on to work as an interior designer on corporate and residential projects throughout New Jersey, New York, and Florida before turning her focus toward education and the arts.

She earned New Jersey certifications in elementary education and art education and spent 15 years teaching in the Hanover Township Public Schools. Along the way, she continued to paint, teach privately, and develop her own artistic practice.

In 2016, Lauren began focusing primarily on portrait painting and private art instruction. She also taught part-time at Artworks Studio in Randolph before opening her own studio.

Today, Wickey Studio brings all of those experiences together. Lauren offers private and semi-private art lessons, portrait commissions, and intimate Studio Social evenings from her studio in Randolph, New Jersey. Classes are limited to six students, creating a relaxed, personal environment where students can learn, create, and enjoy the experience of making art.
